The place where time and memory stopped, Daeryong Mayor, Ganghwa Gyodongdo
Daeryong Market in Gyodongdo Island is where the time of old memories has stopped. It was originally an island close to North Korea, but the Gyodong Bridge was opened to make it easier for tourists to visit. Originally, this is a restricted area for civilians, but you can get a pass easily on Gyodong Bridge.
Closer to North Korea than to Seokmodo - Kaka-Map Exception
Daeryong Market is an alley where residents who briefly evacuated from Yeonbaek County, Hwanghae Province to Gyodongdo Island during the Korean War were unable to return to their hometowns because the mouth of the Han River became a divided line. The size of the Gyodong-do market has also significantly diminished as most of the displaced people who created the market died and the population rapidly decreased. With the opening of Gyodong Bridge in July 2014, however, it became a must-see attraction for tourists to take pictures of Daeryong Market, which looked like a movie set in the 1960s. Since late March, GyodonggI has been operating Ireland, or the so-called Gyodonggu swallow house, where visitors can learn not only about IT-based tourism, but also bike and smartwatch rental services, and `` VR video experience '' and `` Gyodong newspaper making. "

If you are not a resident of Gyodongdo Island and are a visitor, you will check before passing Gyodong Bridge. It is not a serious check and it issues a vehicle pass. You can get a pass and put it on the dashboard of your car.
After passing Gyodong Bridge for about 10 minutes, you will meet Mayor Daeryong.

A house with a swallow
Most people who visit Daeryong market visit the swallow house. Because there is a large parking lot and information facility for visitors, it is the perfect starting point for travel to Daeryong Market.

It's a large parking lot in front of swallow's house.

You can rent bicycles at the swallow house. The price is reasonable. However, I could not borrow it because operation hours were over.

If you look far away through the telescope from the observatory, you can see the birds ' group dance. I think this place is a bird's paradise because it has a good natural environment.

Now, we leave the swallow house and head to Daeryong Market. If you come out of the parking lot and cross the intersection,

A hot dog house
The first restaurant we meet is a hot dog restaurant. It's similar to the Myeongnyang hot dog.
hot dog
Take a bite. It was delicious because I ate it after a long time. It tastes like a cheerful hot dog.
Fangy hodduk, the food of the past.
BungI Hodduk is a famous food here. 1,500 won wouldn't be like that, but if you think of it as a memorable experience, that's a reasonable price.
Chamssal stick
Another treat is sticky rice shister. Everything you say is delicious is fried. ^^
Polyphyceae
Another, this restaurant sells Korean rice wine and Korean traditional rice wine. A lot of people bought it and carried it around.
A coffee mill.
It says mill and sells kimchi and bread. I guess only the sign is a mill.
A coffee and bean barber
It's a coffee shop, not a barber shop.
The scenery of an alley
If you leave the store, you'll find a back alley like this. It's a mural of its own making.
Welsh-onion pancake house.
This is Pajeon House which has rural scenery. I don't know if it's delicious because I haven't tried it before.

This is a view of an alley where Gyo-dong coffee shop is located at sunset.

Basically, we park in the parking lot in front of the swallow house, but we didn't know well and entered Daeryong Market, so we parked in the park of Nonghyup.
National Agricultural Cooperative Federation
I visited on Saturday, and there was enough room to park there because Nonghyup was closed and only local people or people who knew about this parking lot.
I recommend a parking lot in front of swallow's house. If you can't afford it, this is a good place.
